Fast and Find

Hey hey hey!!!!
Holy shnikeez, can't even believe it's already pday! What an eventful week, don't even know where to start.

Ha okay let me start out with a fun miracle-- we went and were helping at a BBQ for the Calgary Stampede, they were doing a little raffle drawing and all of us volunteers got to put our name into the drawing. There was one thing that I wanted, this awesome animal blanket. It's super sick. So we were just talking to a bunch of people-- have a few solid potentials (which is another miracle in and of itself), then I heard it, they said my name over the intercom and I won the blanket. It was legitimately  the best moment of my entire life. So ya, this is what dreams are made of, told you that miracles are happening.

The blanket I won... I told you that it was amazing!!

We woke up this morning and there was a cat in our living room.... ha I about died laughing.

The Andersons came up from Taber a little bit ago and gave me this amazing shirt "Happy, happy, happy.
Ask my why?.... I'm an Auntie" Aren't they just the cutest?!?
Sister Zuidhof came to see me a little bit ago and I forgot to send the pic. Seriously the best person of my life...

Ha but as for the actual good stuff miracles there's a bunch of those too! So our mission did this mission wide "fast and find" from Thursday to Friday. We all fasted that we would be able to find some more people to teach then on Friday (which just happened to be the hottest day of the week) we all were out from 2-5 knocking on doors, street contacting-- just out and about talking to literally everybody we could see. It was awesome. Forgot to put on sunscreen, sorry mom. But I'm good! We knocked on a bunch of doors! Like it was awesome. We gave out a couple Book of Mormons and have a bunch of potentials that we're going to this week. It was awesome. And there were definitely so many miracles happening throughout the entire mission, super cool!! Just a couple of the people that we talked to-- C, this cute young mom that has 1 year old twins. We talked to her as she was getting out of her van, talked to her about how families can be together forever and she invited us to come back :D YAY! And another one, we were up tracting in our family ward-- kinda the wealthy part, we thought that we would use our faith to go to that area cause we need some work there, but we ended up tracting into this YSA age dude, J. He was just getting ready to go to work but we bore a quick testimony to him and we're meeting with him again tomorrow. Then get this, we got a phone call from the assistants, they had some other missionaries on the phone with a referral for us. They met this guy, another guy named Jo, who has some friends on missions and was hoping to read the Book of Mormon before they all get home, he was super excited about meeting with missionaries!! YAY, serious miracles people! Hoping to meet with him sometime this week as well. Also, finding is like the best thing in the entire world. I love it.

As for our people that we're working with, we met with D and J last night. David is the retired Marine, less active member, and his wife, Jody, is investigating. We had a super awesome lesson! David likes to talk... like a lot. And he also likes to play Devil's advocate. Which makes for some super interesting lessons... but anyway he was kind of going off an a rant and the spirit was like "ASK HIM ABOUT THE PRIESTHOOD!!!" So loud and clear. So I interrupted, honestly have no idea what he was talking about, and asked him if he had a testimony of the priesthood. He got silent. Which for him is unheard of. He sat there and thought for a second and he said yes. He said that he has had revelations with the priesthood and that he knows it's the power of God. So then I asked him if he thought that getting a priesthood blessing would help with the questions that he has, and again he sat for a sec. Then said it probably would. So... we're gonna try and do that this week. I just thought it was super cool.

We met with S this week as well, she's finally not sick anymore :) We taught her the Restoration and that went so well! Before the lesson she had asked us why there were so many churches, and after the lesson she told us how everything just made sense. We asked her if this was something that she thought would make her and her family happy and she said that she knew it would. She's so amazing!! Can't wait to see what happens with her.

Jacob-- Jacob is still on date for the 22nd of this month :) we had a really good lesson with him. We read the talk with him called "Perfect Love Casteth our Fear" and that was super powerful. He is such a smart guy and has so many questions in every single lesson, this time I think something was a little different. He understood everything and didn't really have any questions. It was just great.

Yesterday was amazing!! We had a pass off lesson with our zone leaders for a girl named N. The Elders have been teaching her family, but she's the only one really progressing and she's YSA age, so we all went over. And we brought Sabrina with us :) Turns out her and Sabrina are actually friends and we got to talking about baptism and Sabrina pretty much taught the whole thing. She just told her all about her baptism and the spirit and how she came to the decision to be baptized, honestly it was the neatest thing to be able to hear how solid Sabrina is and seeing how it was affecting N. So that was a super awesome lesson and N is on date for the 29th of this month :)
Miracle after miracle, I'm telling you. God is good.

Quote of the week: "When you pray with faith, you will feel God's love as His spirit speaks to your soul. No matter how alone or uncertain you may feel at times, you are not alone in this world. God knows you, personally. As you pray, you will come to know Him."
 -Elder C. Scott Grow

Scripture of the week: D&C 93:1-2 Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandmants, shall see my face and know that I am; and that I am the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Life is good. I love being a missionary. This gospel is true and it's the only thing that will bring us true and everlasting happiness. Sharing that is the best thing in the entire world.

Love you all :) Hope you have a great week!!

True North Strong and Free

HAPPY HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!! God bless America!! Seriously though! Canada doesn't really know how to party. It was Canada Day on Saturday and let's just say that Americans are a lot better at celebrating than Canadians, however it was still pretty fun!

Happy Canada Day!

This week has been awesome! Me and Sister Romo are really working hard-- so that's awesome! We've mainly been meeting with people in our ward so that Sister Romo can get to know them, but we've also had some really good lessons with our investigators.

Stampede Breakfast

Saying bye to Ceri-- she went to Australia and won't see her again before I leave :(

My favorite person ever, Daniel

Z-- we met with him yesterday. He's doing awesome! He has been reading the Book of Mormon and just has so many questions. Yesterday we taught him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This one is one of my favorites to teach because as missionaries we are here to "Teach Repentance and baptize converts." So teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is great cause you get to teach all about repentance! Repentance is like the best thing in the entire world! He really enjoyed the lesson as well. We brought up baptism with him and he said that he needs more time but that he thinks this is a good thing for him. YAY!

Ja-- Ja is still doing great. He wasn't able to come to church cause if was the long weekend for Canada day but I'm really excited about the way he is progressing. He's still on date for July 22nd-- so that'll be here before we know it :)

K-- okay exciting news here!! K IS ON DATE!!! wahoo! We taught him the Restoration and that went super well! At the end of the lesson we were talking about how God loves us and there are things and tools that he gives us to help us be happy, the spirit was straight up like "INVITE HIM TO BE BAPTIZED ON SEPTEMBER 16TH!!!" It was super clear. So went for it, and he accepted! Ha and September 16th is a Saturday too. Pretty neat.

Since it was Canada Day we got to help at some breakfasts. The stampede is coming up though so there is going to be a TON of breakfasts and bbqs going on. Pretty pumped for that.

Funny moment of the week: woke up the other day and Sister Romo asked me if I remembered what I was dreaming about and if I knew that I sleep talk... ha I had no idea. She told me that I taught her a lesson in my sleep. HA! I guess I've been a missionary for a while. But I just thought that was pretty good.
ANYWAYYY this week was super awesome and we have a pretty good week ahead of us. The time is just flying by! Hope you all have an awesome 4th.

Quote of the week: "He wants us to reach out and take firm hold of the iron rod, confront our fears, and bravely step forward and upward along the strait and narrow path. He want this for us because He loves us and because this is the way to happiness." -President Uchtdorf

and "The Lord promises to direct our paths, but for him to do that, we have to walk, trusting that He knows the way because He is the way." -L. Whitney Clayton

I would highly suggest 2 talks from this last conference. Perfect Love Casteth Out Fear, and Whatsoever He saith Unto you, Do it. They are awesome!!

Scripture of the week: 2 Nephi 4:34-- O Lord, I have trusted in thee and I will trust in thee forever.

Hope that you guys all have an awesome week! I love you lots and think about and pray for you guys all the time.

Love you lots,

Sister King :)

Last Transfer!

Hello hello hello!!!

Transfer week was crazy!!!! But awesome. Saying bye to Sister Ho Ching was super sad, but she headed down to Cardston to be an STL down there. So proud. She's gonna kill it! My new companion is Sister Romo. She's the greatest! She's from Virginia and has been out on her mission for just 5 months! So she's definitely still got that greenie fire, it's awesome! This week we were able to take her around and meet some of the people in our wards, that's been super fun! She's going to fit in here just fine.

Okay, serious tender mercy of the week! So we got a call from the APs on Wednesday night telling us that one of the new missionaries was heading down to the south so we needed to go pick her up and be her companion in the morning until she went down to Lethbridge. GUESS WHO THAT MISSIONARY WAS!! SISTER LIZA SMITH! I got to be companions with her for like 2 hours and it was the best thing of my entire life. God is so good!
SISTER SMITH!!!!!!

SISTER ROMO!!

Our week was kinda crazy, as transfer week always is. Sister Ho Ching was saying her goodbyes then when Sister Romo got here we were saying hellos. This is going to be another great transfer! I just love both of our wards so much and I'm so happy that I get to stay here for another one.

We did have some awesome lessons as well. We got to meet with Z and we taught him the Plan of Salvation. He really liked it. I mean it's the greatest thing ever so I don't know why anybody wouldn't like it. But he said that he wants it to be true he just needs to pray about it. Then he came to our FHE activity last night! Miracle! He's just doing great.

We also met with J yesterday. He's doing really good. He's still having a hard time with God, but he's doing the things that he needs to do to get an answer, so I know that he will. He's still on date for July 22nd. Yesterday we had a lesson on recognizing the spirit, that went super well! He's just great!

My girl Kat, got baptized like 4 months ago

causally holding a bird....

Saying bye to Sister Ho Ching

This weekend we had Stake conference and it was awesome. The Stake President just went off about Tuan and how cool of a story his baptism was. And he talked about us Sisters and it just really made me feel good. Tuan is just awesome.
So ya, things are going really well. Just transitioning and stuff, but change is good! Also shoutout to everyone that ran the half! You're just too cool, it's fine.

Quote of the week:"Those who choose to maintain a covenant relationship with Him by coming into His fold, remembering Him always, and striving to keep His commandments choose to be changed through His grace." --Brad Wilcox

Scripture of the week: Mosiah 4:3-- The spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come.

Anywayyy, love you all lots! Hope you all have a fantastic week :)

SWEET SIXTEEN!

HEYYYYY!!!
So again, this past week was a complete blur.
Best news of the week!! Z is back from China! We were able to meet with him on Wednesday and it was awesome. He is still SUPER interested in meeting with us and honestly has the most sincere desire I have ever seen. I would have to say that one of my favorite things is hearing investigators prayers... like they are literally the most genuine things ever. Z said the closing prayer and you can tell that he just wants to know so bad that these things are true.

So this is what we did for the fathers in our ward. It's not a burger... it's a cupcake and a brownie. Mind blown.

Elder Murdock goes home tomorrow....

My study desk-- Sister Rasmussen gave us fresh peonies.

Fish Creek park

first fruit by the foot in 16 months

Amy Georgson... aka the best human being in the whole world. Celebrating her birthday with her.

The Young Men in our ward... they like us.

Just the greatest.

Our girl Sabrina

Yesterday we were able to meet with J. That was an awesome lesson. We read with him the conference talk from October called The Soul's Sincere Desire. That's a real good talk, just saying. We talked lots about prayer and faith. That's one thing that he's been having a little problem with-- he thinks very logically, so we just had a real good discussion. Pretty solid. Ha another hard thing though-- every weekend, pretty much, he goes out to help his 105 year old grandma instead of coming to church... how do to tell someone "hey stop going to help your grandma and come to church." Ha but we did talk about the importance of it and that church is a good place to receive answers as well-- so he's coming to Stake Conference this week :)

J-- she's doing really well! We saw her on Thursday and we talked about the Restoration. It was so cute cause she was teaching her daughters what a prophet is and it was just adorable. So we're teaching her kids now too. Super awesome. We were also able to meet with her on Saturday where we taught the Word of Wisdom... not gonna lie that's always kind of a scary one to teach when you know that they are struggling with some of them. But when we were teaching she said that she would give up everything. She said that she knows the first week is going to be the hardest but it'll be worth it. MONEY! Seriously she's so golden!

Fun fact: we saw President on Friday and guess what! Sister Ho Ching is being transferred because she's going STL!!! So sad that she's leaving me going to bigger and better things but so so excited for her! Tonight we'll find out where she is going and who my new companion will be. Transfers are always crazy! The anticipation kills me. But it's all good-- luckily all of the sisters in our mission are amazing! Also-- on Thursday at transfers I will get to see Sister Liza Smith. So that'll be great. She comes in this transfer... so pumped!

Crazy to think that I have been set apart as a mission for 16 months! Sweet Sixteen!  Still can't really believe it. Time is literally flying by!
Anywayyyy... life is good. Really good.

Scripture of the week: Mormon 1:7-- I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; wherefore, he worketh in me to do according to his will.

Quote of the week: "Repentance is a continuing process i which each of us needs to draw on the Atonement for real relief, real forgiveness, and real progression." -Elder Maxwell

So ya, love you guys lots. Good luck with camp and the half marathon this week. Y'all are gonna kill it. And tell the Smith's that I will give a big hug to their daughter for them :)

Thank you for sending Sisters King and Ho Ching to serve in the Pine Creek YSA Ward

President Miles got this email from a bishop of a ward they are working in and he forwarded it to them :) :

Pres. Miles,

I just had to write and let you know how great Sis. King and Sis. Ho Ching are doing in our ward.  They have opened the blessings of heaven for sharing the gospel in our ward for which I am extremely grateful.  It's not often that I have seen such a dedicated companionship with enthusiasm, happiness and love that exudes from them.

They participate in our ward council and come prepared, with complete forms (yes last names of all investigators), ideas on how our ward council can best help.  They engage the ward missionaries (and me) in teaching lessons and they participate in our many YSA activities with non-members happy to see them and welcoming them.

Thank you for sending us these great sisters with the resulting blessings we are seeing and I thank the Lord for answering our prayers through them.

Bishop Greg Stringham
Pine Creek YSA ward

It's a Great Day in the Kingdom!

HELLOOOO!!
Man this week has been a complete blur! Honestly can't even remember much of what we did, but we were very busy!
I'll just start with the most exciting news? Ya know J? Well he is just awesome and always has these super intense, and deep questions.... like it's pretty ridiculous. But hey, the spirit always comes in clutch. But anyway, we met with him yesterday and that lesson was so bomb! WE PUT HIM ON DATE FOR JULY 22!!!! So crazy! It was seriously the best thing ever. We went over the plan of salvation and everything that we talked about last week then we just asked him questions. Just a whole lesson on asking him where he's at. It was so great! He knows that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the church was restored through him, he knows all about Jesus Christ and he wants to be more like him. His only hang up is still with God, but he said that he was willing to show his faith and pick a day-- He knows that he's going to receive an answer before then. How great is that?!? I'm just so pumped for him. That's just like the best thing about being a missionary-- it's literally a front row seat to see people change. Like our first lesson with him I was scared, he's pretty intimidating, but as we continued to teach him you can see a physical change in him. It was just awesome.

Temple with Sabrina

Sister Ho Ching

Alfred, our investigator, made us each a cutting board with wood from Zambia

Exchanges with ma girl Sister Grange

Held a week old kitten

Ha I don't think that I have told you guys about Jo. She's one of our investigators that we started teaching like 3 weeks ago. Her husband is a member but he hasn't come to church in like 15 years. Oh and he's an ex-marine and is kinda super scary... ha but that's beside the point. We have been able to see some real miracles with them as of late. THEY CAME TO CHURCH!!! D hasn't even prayed in 15 years, then he told us of this amazing experience that he had the other day where he finally decided to pray and he knew that God was there. Now he will pray at the end of our lessons and he has been to church twice. CRAZINESS! And J is just golden. She got baptized 2 years ago as a Jehovah's Witness, but she felt like she wasn't really progressing at all. So she stopped going, and she literally just eats up everything that we teach her. This last lesson that we had we asked her to start praying about a date for baptism, and she told us that she would because she knew that when she picked a date that would show the Lord that she has faith that everything will work out... ha we just sat there like "ya, ha that's exactly why." So it has been amazing working with their family. They have 2 kids and they are just the sweetest little kids ever. They came to primary and got CTR rings and they refuse to let anything happen to them. Super cute!

But ya, our people are doing really good. We also had one of our less actives come to church on Sunday. She hasn't been to church in years and we met with her and she decided to come. And she brought her husband, who isn't a member. We're meeting with them tomorrow night so hopefully that will go well. Honestly it's kinda crazy the miracles that we are seeing. I love it. God is good.

Another amazing thing that happened this week. We were able to go to the temple with Sabrina. We had a ward temple trip and President Miles let us go with them cause Sabrina was going for the first time. BEST DAY EVER! Seriously, Sabrina is the sweetest. And it's always super cool cause obviously we have a goal to help people get baptized... but our real goal is to help people get to the temple. So that was super awesome. And she is just being the best little missionary ever. She wants us to teach a couple of her friends... SCORE! Love it!

Ha so we have to park our cars and walk one day a week, and this past week we chose Saturday. Worst decision of our entire lives. It has never rained so much! Ha but we had fun out in the rain. Fun fact: when you're in a YSA ward your area is HUGE!! Ha so walking is always a party. But anyway, it's a good thing that Sister Ho Ching is fun or that day would have been miserable.

Ha sorry this email is all over the place. But I guess to sum it all up I could just say that things are going peachy. Our wards are doing great, our people are doing great and I am having fun. That's really the gist of it.
Hope that everything is going well at home, and that you all have an amazing week :) Love you lots!!

Scripture of the week: Matthew 19:26-- with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
and another one cause scriptures are great:Jacob 5:75-- And blessed art thou; for because ye have been diligent in laboring with me in my vineyard, and have kept my commandments, and have brought unto me again the natural fruit, that my vineyard is nor more corrupted, and the bad is cast away, behold ye shall have joy with me because of the fruit of my vineyard.

Quote of the week: "Kindness is the essence of a celestial life. Kindness is how a Christ-like person treats others. Kindness should permeate all of our words and actions at work, at school, at church, and especially in our homes. Jesus, our Savior, was the epitome of kindness and charity." -Joseph B. Wirthlin

Love you lots!

cAUNTada

Hello hello hello!!!! I have been waiting for this day for forever!!!! Literally so excited for the fam! Welcome to the world little Carson-- I can tell that everybody loves him so much, and I'm feeling that same thing even up in the Great White North!!
Sister Ho Ching's auntie

Flying a kite. His name is Franklin.

Made a fruit basket for a girl in our ward

Tracting at its finest

All my little friends-- Sophia, Tressa, Mia and Musa

This week has been amazing! Seeing so many miracles it's ridiculous!! The first one-- let me tell you about S. She's the one who's brother died not too long ago. So we went and saw her last Monday night, and taught her the plan of salvation. That was amazing!! She was asking questions-- Where is my brother? Why are we here? ha Seriously, those questions that you hope everyone asks. So that lesson was great, tears were shed. AMAZING. We went back and saw her again last week. We talked to her about everything we talked about last week. She said that she felt like it was true. She said that she didn't want to be at the bottom kingdom, she wants to be at the top. She knows that she needs to make some changes but she is so desperately wanting to make those changes! It was amazing. We're going back to see her on Saturday and I know that it's going to be great. Seriously the Lord is preparing people for us to find and teach, we're honestly doing nothing. Just trying to be in the right place at the right time, but the Lord is leading us to these amazingly prepared people.

A-- so he is 87 and doesn't believe in God. He has met with missionaries on and off for a really long time... and yet he has never come to church. UNTIL NOW! He came to church on Sunday! It was the biggest miracle ever!! Afterwards he told us that his heart was softening. WHAT?!? This is the same guy that told us that we were trying to plant a seed in dry ground. Ha funny how the spirit can change people hey?

J-- okay get this. So we met with him yesterday and that was awesome! We felt like we should bring our Bishop with us so we did. That ended up being the best decision in the entire world. He has so many questions that are great but he was able to have a really good discussion with Bishop. We read the talk about the Godhead-- Elder Oaks from this past general conference. The spirit was so strong. Last week when we talked to him he straight up said that he hated God, then yesterday at the end of our lesson we asked him how he felt about God. He said that he doesn't hate Him anymore. He doesn't necessarily love God, but he doesn't hate Him. PROGRESS!!!  He really is being changed by the spirit. It may be slower than we want, but he is progressing. And of course it's not our timing, it's the Lord's. So ya, he's doing great!

This week especially I have been thinking about the Plan of Salvation like a lot! With everything going on with our investigators and with everything going on at home with Carson being born. How amazing is it to know that there is a purpose to this madness that we call life? There's a reason we go through the things that we go through, and we aren't alone. There is something after this life, and it brings me so much hope and happiness knowing that this isn't the end. Is it hard to not be there with Carson? Of course! But the thing that I keep remembering is that families are forever! I get to be with you guys and him for eternity, and I'm just so glad that I got the amazing family that I did. You guys are pretty dope. I'm just so grateful for the opportunity to be able to share this message with others. Just especially with the experience that we had with S-- this plan just makes sense. God wants us back!! His purpose is to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." He wants us to experience that true happiness, and I know that it will come as we try our best to be like Jesus. That's when we truly can be the most happy, and again it's amazing to be able to see that. I literally get a front row seat to see the spirit work with people and them become happy as they try to be more like our Savior.

HA so ya that's my little rant. I am just so happy to be a part of this work, even though I feel like the Lord and the spirit pretty much do everything! Just trying to be a worthy vessel :)
So. The church is true. The book is blue. I love Carson, and all of you.... wow that cheese though. Really do love you guys a lot though.

Scripture of the week: For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith and I know that he will hear my cry.

Quote of the week: super simple but I love it... "I testify that we have a Heavenly Father, who loves us. I testify that we have a Holy Ghost, who guides us. And I testify of Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Savior, who makes it all possible." --Dallin H. Oaks

Love you all so much!!!! Hope that you have a killer week. Thanks for all the pics of everything!

Be D.O.P.E.R.

HEYOOOO!!! Ha still waiting for Baby Briggs... but that's all good :) He'll be here before we know it. Or maybe he could just wait another couple months for me :)

ANYWAYYY this week was okay... so we had a bomb week planned out and then I feel like literally all of our appointments fell through. We weren't able to meet with any of our investigators. Sad day. And it was rainy. Like pouring rain. But it was all good cause since our appointments kept falling through we had lots of time to do some finding. Fact: tracting in the freezing rain stinks... however it's like the best thing in the world cause when you knock on a door and it's 2 freezing, soaking girls people are more inclined to open it. In fact, WE PICKED UP A FAMILY THIS WEEK!!!! So we knocked on this ladies house like a month ago and she told us to come back, we've been back so many times and it just wasn't the right time I guess. So we decided to go over right during the middle of a huge storm. We knocked and she opened. It was awesome! We shared a message with them and she was really exciting cause she wants her son to be exposed to Christ and everything. So we're meeting with them again this week. We're pretty excited about that.

We also got a referral from Salt Lake for a Mike. He just moved here from Coventry and his mother in law thought that he would be receptive to a visit from missionaries. So we went by and set something up with him and his wife. They have 2 kids as well. I'm so excited! Teaching families is the best thing in the entire world!!!
Oh cool tracting moment of the week! So we went to see our investigators-- they had a crazy week and had to cancel our lesson but we stopped by just to talk to them for a sec. Anyway, we felt like we should go knock on this one house like 5 doors down, so we did. We knocked and this cute Native lady answered. We just talked to her for a sec then she opened right up to us and said that her brother died last week and she has been having a really hard time finding peace and comfort and she has so many questions about life after death. We bore testimony of the Plan of Salvation and that she'll be able to see her brother again, she was fighting tears the whole time. Then she told us that she knew that we came for a reason and she asked us to come back on Monday night. WHAT? People asking us to come back?!? It was crazy!! But she just kept saying how she knew that we were there for a reason and that she wants to find answers. The Plan of Salvation is like the coolest thing in the world! We're stoked to go and see her tonight.

The Andersons made the 2 1/2 hour drive up to Calgary just to take us out to lunch... love those guys.

We also had zone conference this week-- that was super awesome! There were a bunch of amazing trainings, ha but my favorite was one from our Zone leaders. They were training about how we can get out investigators that aren't progressing to progress... one of the steps that they talked about was to "be doper" yes doper...
Develop
Open
Personal
Earnest
Relationships
You have to show people that you really do care and love them. And let me tell you, the people here are so easy to love! We just have to make sure that they can see how much we really do care. Ha so we just need to be Doper.
Ha ya, that's about it for the week. We have awesome plans for this week, so lets hope that works out. If not, we'll see where the Lord needs us. Life is Good.

Anywayyyy, love you guys lots. Can't wait to hear from you all next week and get pics of everything. My family is like the best in the whole world. Hope you all have a good week :)

Quote of the week: "Life is perfect for none of us. Rather than being judgmental and critical of each other, may we have the pure love of Christ for our fellow travelers in this journey through life." -- President Monson

Scripture of the week: D&C 58:42-- Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.

Love ya!!

Tae Tuan Do

HELLOOOO!!!
This past week was a complete blur! But it was the best!!!

So, we'll start with the major exciting things from this past week. TUAN GOT BAPTIZED!!! It was the best thing ever! So I told you that he has been investigating for more than 6 years?? Well during that time he accumulated like a bajillion friends. So there were a ton of people there! We ended up having to move it into the chapel so that we could fit everyone in there. Super awesome! Ha all of the people who spoke told us how lucky we were to be able to be the missionaries that got to see him be baptized. Just think 6 years of meeting with the missionaries... that would be a ton! But it was also a very humbling experience cause without all those contacts, without all the fellowship, without everyone else Tuan wouldn't have gained the rock solid testimony that he has. After the actual ordinance and everything had taken place Tuan wanted to bear his testimony.  It was super sweet. Yesterday was his confirmation and it was awesome as well. Ha he even received the priesthood and got a temple recommend. He's just going to be the best member ever! So excited to see where he goes cause he has such a solid testimony and wants to share it with everyone now.

Dawsyn got baptized on Saturday. For the past couple weeks we have been teaching her the lessons.

TUAN!!!

Tuan again... he's so happy :)

JAMBAAAAAA!!

Kyndal... one of our YW

So ya, that was the high point of the week! But there were some other fun things that happened as well! We picked up 2 new investigators this week. So the couple that we picked up last week, told us to come back and teach their kids. They have 4 boys who all have so much energy!! But they are all so smart!! We taught them the Restoration and the 12 year old boy was talking about the priesthood and asked when it came back... cause ya know, God loves us and wants us to have direction. Ha it was awesome! And they are super excited to read the Book of Mormon together and just learn more. We're really excited to teach them this week!! I feel like they are golden and the spirit is going to hit them real hard.

So remember when I first talked about A and he said that we were "planting a seed on hard ground." Well we felt like we should keep meeting with him, and at his last lesson he told us that we were softening his heart. Ha so he's 87 and doesn't believe that there is a God... but he said that he's starting to believe in something. His wife was there and her jaw dropped and as we left she said that we've got the farthest with him than anyone has before. So there's a glimmer of hope!!

Z-- So Z is just the best. We met with him this week and taught the Restoration. He has tons of super awesome questions. He's just super sincere and wants to learn and grow. He wants to know for himself. Man, I can just feel that he's going to get an answer! Unfortunately he's going to China for a couple weeks :( so we won't be able to meet with him for a bit. Ha but he set up a return appointment with us for June 14... Z on June 14th! ha so that'll be great! Plus he said that while he's traveling there he's going to read lots from the BOM-- PERFECT!! We're excited for him.

Ha biggest tender mercy of the week though: our ward mission leader brought us Jamba Juices from the states. He literally put them in a cooler for us. Please don't take Jamba Juice for granted. It's the best.

So ya, life is great. We are meeting with some more potentials this week that we are really excited about! Plus I feel like our YSA ward is starting to get the missionary spirit and it's the best. We have a bunch of RMs coming home that just wanna baptize nations-- so that's chill.

Shoutout to Mama King and that award that she got this week. Yay... you're just the best :)

Another shoutout to Baby Briggs-- please come soon.

Anywayyyy I'm loving this area. It's awesome. And so so happy that me and Sister Ho Ching get to stay together and see some more miracles!

Qote of the week: "Our promised blessings are beyond measure. Though the storm clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us... as we walk uprightly... There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us." -President Monson

Scripture of the week: 2 Nephi 22:2-- Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.

Love you all and hope that you have a killer week!!!

Feels Like I Was Just Talking to You Guys.... Oh Wait, I Was!

Well hey there. Feels like I was just talking to you guys... oh wait, I was. Weird.

But really that was like the best thing of my entire life, you guys are so great!
Since I kinda told you what's been up this probably won't be the best email in the world, but we'll give it a shot anyway.

We've seen TONS of miracles lately, like it's pretty ridiculous. So that friend that Qing brought to church last week, we met with him and he's this super sweet, shy, Chinese guy. We talked with him for a bit about how we just want to help him get closer to Christ, we asked him if that's something that he wanted. He paused for like 30 seconds and was just thinking, then he told us that the way that we were talking-- how we could bear our testimony and say that we know that God loves us and that He sent his son, and how we know that Christ loves us-- he just wants to be able to say that for himself. YAY! He wants a testimony so badly and we're hoping that we can help him on his way to do that. He's super excited to meet with us again-- he even texted us later that night and said that he was so happy he met with us and can't wait to meet again. We're seeing him this Wednesday, so I'm thinking that should be a super awesome lesson.

Saying bye to my girl Sister Van Bloem

Nuff said

Stopped by a lemonade stand this week

We also picked up a family this week!!!! So we knocked on their door like 2 weeks ago and they told us to come back, ha obviously we did. They are just the best. They kind of opened up to us and told us some of the things that they had been going through and boy oh boy, they've gone through a TON! But they said that the only thing that got them through it was God and Jesus Christ. They are super interested in raising their 4 kids in a good church and they are looking for something different. SUPER AWESOME!!! They asked if we could meet with their whole family this week and teach the kids. So pumped for that.

We had a super awesome meeting with T this week as well. We had probably one of the best lessons we've ever had with him, ha and it was about tithing and fast offerings. Literally, T is like the best person in the world-- he's already been paying tithing for about 5 years. Super solid. He is pumped about his baptism this Saturday. I'm just so excited that he is finally going to be able to see the blessings of baptism... plus he wants to go to the temple super bad. So we're on our way there.

So ya, our people are doing well. Sabrina is killing it and really fitting right into the ward-- she had something with her family happen this week so if you could send some extra prayers her way that would be awesome. Same with J, he's kinda having a tough time. But prayers get answered people.

Love you lots.

Scripture of the week: Alma 56:47-48  Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them. And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.

Quote of the week: "Our destiny is not determined by the number of times we stumble but by the number of times we rise up, dust ourselves off and move forward." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Have a fabulous week!!

Cha-Qing

HELLOOOOO FAMILIA!!

This week was seriously the best thing since sliced bread... no joke.
So many exciting things to report I don't even know where to start!

Okay well the most exciting news: SABRINA GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!! It was the best thing of my entire life. Honestly,  Sabrina was so prepared it's ridiculous-- we had only been teaching her for like a month and now she is officially a member of the church. Just seeing her progress in the gospel has helped my testimony grow, she has so much faith! Like she believed everything that we talked about and said that the spirit was confirming it to her and when we talked to her right after her baptism she said that she felt so good and couldn't wait to be confirmed to receive God's spirit. Man, I just love her. So ya, the baptism went awesome! Her friend Ryan, who introduced us to her got to the the baptizing and it was just awesome. Sabrina is just the best. And it was super cool cause she was actually supposed to go to Australia for 4 months this week but somehow it got changed to next month and she said that she knew it was because she was supposed to get baptized. So cool. Love that girl. And she's doing great. The confirmation was also one of the coolest things! HA baptisms are just the best!

Ha, I could talk about the for forever but we did other fun stuff too. On Tuesday we were able to go to the temple with the whole North of the mission-- like 85ish missionaries. That was awesome! My first time doing a session in the Calgary temple and it was great! Seriously the spirit was so strong. Just think that many missionaries all in one session-- coolest experience! The temple is the best place in the whole world! Especially when you get to see all your friends in the celestial room all together. It was just an overall amazing experience!

We also picked up 4 investigators this week :) ha it's been a while so we were super excited about that. Qing Li, in our ward, is a convert of a couple years and we met with him this week and he brought one of his friends. We taught the Restoration and the spirit was super strong and his friend, J, wanted to learn more :) it was awesome! Then get this, Qing brought one of his other friends, Z, to church yesterday. We had seen him before and shared a brief message with him but he came to church and we are meeting with him again this week. Ha Cha-Qing!!

When a member gives you this....

Qing-- gave me a cheesecake just cause. #blessingsonblessings

On Saturday we had a little bit of time so we went tracting, and we ran into a couple families that said that we could come back. We went back to this one house last night and the mom and the son, B and A, sat down and we got to teach the first lesson to them. There is such a good spirit that comes every time you talk about the first vision, I love it. They are also from Pakistan and are wanting to explore Christianity. So we are super excited about teaching them again this week.

Ho-King pt 2

Our other investigators are doing well. We met with Tuan yesterday and he is still feeling good about May 20th :) We're super excited for him.

Pretty much the work is moving along and it's the best. We have a bunch of potentials we're meeting with this week and our investigators are all progressing! It's awesome. The Lord is working miracles here!
Transfers are also this week so we are getting pretty antsy to see what's going to happen. We think that Sister Ho Ching should be staying but you never know-- but we've been praying for Ho-King to stay together so we'll see what happens!
Anyway, I'm doing really well. Can't wait to see your faces on Sunday. Still can't believe how fast that came up... but see ya on Sunday :)

Scripture of the week: 2 Corinthians 4:17-- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment. worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Quote of the week: "When we link our suffering to an assurance of purpose in our mortality and more specifically to the reward awaiting us in heavenly places, our faith in Christ increases and we receive comfort to our souls." -Elder Evan A. Schmutz

Love you all!!!
