How in the world is it already Monday?!? We have been super busy, which is great, but it makes the time go by so quickly.
Our week was awesome!!! Okay, so we were going through our area book and came across this guy named Lord Alfred Peyten. Ha yes, Lord Alfred. We stopped by and he let us in and said that he would love to have us come back... so we did. Holy cow I have never met anybody with such a hard heart. He straight up was like "you're trying to plant this seed on hard ground..." ha at least he got the analogy that we were talking about, so I don't know if that will go anywhere, but as we were getting ready to go we asked him if he knew of anybody that we could teach. And he said yes! Ha so we're going back sometime this week and he is going to try and get his friend to come... weird how people will give us their friends to teach but not be interested themselves. But hey it's still pretty cool.

Now let me tell you about Tuan.
- gave us a call this week and said that he needed to meet with missionaries asap.
- has been going to church for 6 years.
- has held a calling-- he taught Elder's quorum.
- has a testimony.
- has met on and off with missionaries for 10 years.
- has not been baptized.
Ha so that's a little about him... but we had a super stellar couple lessons with him this week. We straight up asked him why he hasn't been baptized yet and he said that it just never "clicked"... we asked him how he was feeling about it now and he said that it's a goal. Then we talked about the temple and he expressed that he would really like to go inside. I'm just sitting there like "well I know of one super simple way to get you there." But lessons have been going well for him and he said that this time it's just different. So hopefully we'll get somewhere :)
Okay here's the awkward Sister King moment of the week. So we were out tracting when we saw these 2 people outside on their porch. One of them looked like a teenager and the other one looked YSA age. Obviously we had to go and talk to them, so we did. We walked up and talked for about 5 minutes-- they're super chill. Then I found myself saying the words "Do you have friends?" As soon as it came out of my mouth I was like, what in the world did I just say? Ha but she ended up saying "No, we moved here from West Africa and it's been hard to make some new friends." So we went in real quick with the whole YSA thing and she was so stoked and said that she would love to come out to any activities that we had. Ha so even though I am slightly awkward socially the Lord still can make up the difference. YAY. So we're pretty excited about that.
Last night we had a really good lesson with one of our less active members. She is an RM and has been going through some really hard things right now and has been meeting with missionaries for a couple years now... but last night we had a super awesome lesson about gratitude and at the end she was crying and just said "I've had a lot of sisters and I have loved all of them... but you 2 are MY missionaries." It was honestly the cutest thing. She's doing great. It's cool to be able to connect with people, the Lord knows exactly where we need to be. I'm learning so much from this area already.
Yesterday we had all of our investigators come to church. It was awesome!!! So they're all progressing. Then yesterday after sacrament one of the members came up to Sabrina and asked when her baptismal date was. And she said "I haven't picked one yet". Then I looked over at her and asked how she was feeling about baptism. And she flat out said "I'm feeling good, I just need to pick a date." WHAT IS LIFE?!?! Seriously it was awesome. So hopefully we'll be able to pick a date for her sometime this week.
I think that's about all for this week. We have a really good week ahead of us as well. Miracles are happening and our people are progressing. It's awesome.
Anyway, love you lots and hope that you all have a great week :)
Also in case you were wondering I did pull the "we believe in being subject to kings" on Sister Ho Ching this week. She's good to me :)
Love ya,
Sister King
Scripture of the week: 1 Nephi 11:17-- I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless I do not know the meaning of all things.
Quote of the week:
"The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature." -Ezra Taft Benson
